American Centaur is an all-male theater company with the head of contemporary culture and the body of Shakespeare. We begin with classical texts -- primarily Shakespeare -- and create all-new, vigorous, innovative, wild pieces that belong to our time. We are high-tech and low-tech: we use video, recorded music, and projections alongside acoustic guitars, puppets, clowning, and dance. We aspire to make shows that can fill a huge space, but also fit in a backpack. We make live theater for the internet generation. |

Willy Loman dreamed of money and success.
American Centaur dreams of heart-stopping, painfully entertaining theatre.
Using their frolicking, high-tech/low-tech approach, this irreverent team of six puts on a wildly disrespectful,
pathetically desperate-to-please tribute to a certain musty relic of mid-century American drama.
Death of American Centaur is a re-invention / deconstruction / rebellious ass-kicking of Miller's classic;
a rollicking tragedy of one company’s dream, and how it died.
