PuppetCinema began as an experiment in mediums by Israeli puppeteer, Zvi Sahar, while attending Haifa University. With the intention of creating a live theatrical and cinematic experience by incorporating the use of miniature puppets and object manipulation, PLANET EGG was born.
Tiny puppets made of vegetables & stereo parts make their film debut, live onstage before your very eyes!
Witness the spectacle of PLANET EGG: crash-landings, cultural misunderstandings, murder, romance, forgiveness, and revenge. Performed and projected live with a full Foley score, PLANET EGG creates both an intimacy with the puppets and a cinematic grandness worthy of a space odyssey. The visual world of PLANET EGG is a collage of found-objects and crafted creations, electronic parts and organic items. The Robot, his ship, and all of his belongings are pieces of old stereos and telephones, wires, springs, and other metal bits. Some of the planet’s natives are sculpted from clay, while many are actual raw vegetables. |
